Family Law

BLC's five attorneys have devoted almost 100 years to the practice of family law. We care passionately about getting good results for our clients – and we understand that a good result cannot always be measured solely in dollars. When our client's objective is to preserve and protect the parties' relationships with children, relatives, or each other, we develop strategies to accomplish those objectives (while at the same time maintaining a focus on financial interests).

BLC is unique in its integration of psychological consulting (Dr. Richard Wolman), financial planning, and counseling/parenting coordination/GAL services (Dr. Wolman and Vicki L. Shemin, LICSW, J.D.) with legal practice.

We advise and represent clients in:

  • Divorce
  • Post-divorce disputes Prenuptial and post-nuptial agreement negotiations
  • Custody/child support disputes
  • Property/alimony disputes
  • Domestic partner disputes
  • Guardianship disputes
  • Family property, probate, and inheritance disputes

Sound planning can often prevent disputes from arising, and we recommend including in every family law agreement (and in estate planning documents) cost-effective dispute resolution provisions.
